Customer Care
When you travel with an IMG company, you travel with piece of mind.
Because of our high standards and focus on safety, all IMG members exceed the requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in safety measures. Motorcoach drivers are carefully screened for employment and must go through the mandated IMG Driver Training Program.
In fact, when the IMG Driver Training Program was first initiated, drivers were required to pass the proficiency test with seasoned drivers using the program for continuing education and to challenge themselves with becoming an IMG "Certified Driver".
Many IMG companies have taken advantage of grant funding available from the Department of Homeland Security and are implementing comprehensive security training programs. These programs are designed to implement extensive security measures that help protect our facilities, equipment and most importantly, you and your group.
To ensure continual commitment to safety, IMG holds an annual Maintenance and Safety Forum, which is a required meeting where members work together to share success stories about safety and maintenance in order to improve best practices in these areas. Members also hold regular safety meetings within their own companies.
International Motor Coach Group Standards of Excellence
IMG companies are mostly family-owned companies with many years of business history. They are the unwavering force in the motor coach industry promoting safety, quality, customer service and financial stability. Membership in IMG is restricted to those operators with proven service experience that share similar operating standards and will secure long-term client relationships.
Prior to becoming part of the IMG family, candidates must meet, at minimum, the following criteria:
- Have a minimum of five years of business experience and operation. • Have Operating Authority both on a federal and state basis.
- Possess excellent Department of Transportation and/or Department of Defense ratings.
- Maintain a fleet of safe, clean, quality, modern, DVD-equipped motor coaches. • Maintain a minimum of $5 million in liability insurance.
- Have an active drug and alcohol testing program.
- Maintain an on-site, full service garage and maintenance facility.
- Provide a standard emergency response time, on-call mechanic and 24/7 dispatcher contact.
- Offer mutual commitment to provide service to all other IMG companies with parts, equipment and qualified service personnel, upon request.
- Maintain a proven preventative maintenance program.
- Provide mandated IMG professional driver-training programs with defensive driving and customer service components.
- Have facilities and equipment available for customer inspection.
- Maintain a customer-feedback process.
- Have the financial ability to participate in two mandatory training and business meetings each year.
These standards are taken very seriously by the organization. Current IMG members and staff conduct on-site inspections of potential members before the membership application is even considered. Following approval of membership, IMG staff monitors and conducts quality checks on its members to ensure compliance of the standards.
